April Ross, a beach volleyball star from the United States She is one of a small group of women who have won medals in multiple Olympics. Alix-Klineman will be competing with April Ross in Tokyo for her third gold in the coming days. Ross is hoping to secure an Olympic debut gold however, she also hopes to win greater. With her age of 39, this may be her final chance to take home an Olympic gold. But she's still certain of taking top honors. Her family lived in the area along with her parents and younger sister. Ross was a competitive athlete in a variety of sports during her time at Newport Harbor High School. The prep sports she played included indoor volleyball as well as basketball as well as track and running. She was definitely the best player in indoor volleyball. The college bio says that she was an outside hitter, middle blocker, and setter in her volleyball playing career at high school. To honor her achievements, she received the Gatorade Award for the National Player of 1999. She also was awarded an Orange County Athlete of the of the year for volleyball. Ross and Klineman may be working on a project at the beginning of 2017, but Ross was already an established volleyball player before they teamed up. In reality, she's had numerous big wins and one of them was a renowned volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years from 2007 until 2013. She also worked with Klineman as well as herself. Ross, Kessy's fellow teammate who was the winner of the world championship together with Kessy in 2009 was also an important player on the an international level. The duo would go on to win a silver at the 2012 Olympic Games at London. Misty May, Kerri Walsh and Kerri Jennings were the team that could take home the gold. It was fate that had them. Ross turned out to be Walsh Jennings' new partner as May-Treanor stepped down. The team won bronze in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross was a college athlete for USC Trojans before starting her professional career. She was a player in high school, as well as before hitting the beaches as a professional. It was a successful run for Ross at the school. In her first year at the school, 2000 earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman of the Award and also be named an All-American. Also, she was one of the key players in helping the Trojans make the Final Four. After her sophomore year, she experienced a terrible personal loss, yet earned the distinction of being an All-American. In her final two seasons with the Trojans they helped to win two consecutive titles. Ross was an excellent volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the best female college volleyball player. Ross, a USC international relations major, was a volleyball star. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, did not have the opportunity to see her daughter grow into the beach volleyball's biggest star. As of 2001, when Ross was a sophomore in USC her mother passed away due to breast cancer. Her mother is still close to her heart.
